RubberDucks Fall Short, 5-4, at Erie
|
Jerry Uht Park was the site of a competitive game between the Akron RubberDucks and Erie SeaWolves.
Akron designated hitter Garrett Witt had a good game, even if his team did not. The RubberDucks dropped a 5-4 decision to Erie at Jerry Uht Park. Witt went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Tyler Waddell, credited with the save, is now 17 for 19 in save opportunities.
Pepe Medina had a timely hit in the bottom of the sixth inning. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Erie shortstop hit a run-scoring single. That put the SeaWolves in front, 5-4.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Medina.
Erie is now 37-49, while Akron is 40-46.
