Tight Tilt Goes to Fightin Phils, 2-1
|
The Reading Fightin Phils did just enough to sneak past the Harrisburg Senators, 2-1, at Metro Bank Park. Reading pitcher Ricardo Hernández, in particular, had a standout performance. Elijah Manning notched his 2nd save in 2 chances. With the victory, the Fightin Phils upped their record to 49-43.
Werner Schneider, the 23-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Schneider contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Reading up, 2-0.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Schneider.
