The Akron RubberDucks beat the Harrisburg Senators, 6-4, at Metro Bank Park. The win was due in part to designated hitter Joshua Mears, who was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The RubberDucks, at 49-52, sit in 4th place in the South.

Mears had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-0 fastball from Sixto Granados, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the RubberDucks a 6-4 lead. It was the 26th home run of the year for Mears.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Mears told the Akron Observer. "It's as simple as that."
