Flying Squirrels Deal Thunder 5-4 Loss
|
José Valdéz led Richmond to a win over Trenton. The final score was 5-4. Valdéz scored 2 times, going 3 for 4. He also knocked in 1 RBI. Ricky Tiedemann earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 2-0. With their winning streak at 4, the Flying Squirrels have raced to a strong start this season.
Richmond used the timely hitting of Lucas Miller to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Flying Squirrels on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Exciting game to play in," said Miller. "Getting the win makes it even better."
