The Trenton Thunder withstood an impressive performance by Akron right fielder Beau Ryan to defeat the RubberDucks, 8-6, at Mercer County Waterfront Park. Ryan belted 2 home runs. Getting the save was Lawrence Cameron, his 20th. The victory puts Trenton at 39-69.

Michael Pearl hit a 2-run double off Zach McCambley in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Thunder in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Pearl had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"We came out aggressive," said Thunder manager Audo Vicente. "We came out swinging the bats."
