Flying Squirrels Come Up Short at Reading, 4-3
Starting pitcher Stanford Marchand pitched well enough to help the Reading Fightin Phils beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 4-3. The winner was Bobby Cook in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Jordan Wicks took the loss. Elijah Manning finished the game for Reading and earned his 6th save.

In the bottom of the seventh, Reading right fielder Victor Victor Mesa hit a run-scoring single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 4-3, Fightin Phils.

Marchand called the win "a collective effort."
