Southall Excels in 6-3 Binghamton Win
|
Good production from third baseman Avery Southall helped the Binghamton Rumble Ponies topple the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 6-3. Southall went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Rumble Ponies. The win elevated the Rumble Ponies to 63-48.
Binghamton used the timely hitting of Tyler Kowalchuk to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rumble Ponies on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Southall told the Binghamton Herald: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
