Akron RubberDucks starter Mick Abel turned in an exceptional performance against the Portland Sea Dogs at Canal Park, resulting in a Akron win, 5-2. Parker Kelly notched his 11th save in 12 chances. The 4th-place RubberDucks now have a win-loss record of 54-58.

Quentin Holmes, who is tied for 7th in the EL in doubles with 24, helped out the Akron cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a double.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Abel said after the game.
