Akron rode a decent outing from starter Mick Abel to victory over the Portland Sea Dogs. The final score was 6-2. Abel went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 4-1. The win makes Akron 56-60.
Akron used the bat of Félix Lugo to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the RubberDucks ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
