Senators Roll to 9-3 Win Over Curve
|
Getting offensive support from George Valera, the Harrisburg Senators topped the Altoona Curve, 9-3. Valera went 2-4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Senators. Harrisburg pitcher Lance Klos got the win, upping his record to 8-4. Chris Walton got the loss. Júlio Cuevas earned the save for Harrisburg, his 1st.
The Senators got an important contribution from third baseman Lynwood Johnson, who in the bottom of the second knocked a 0-1 cutter into right for a bases-clearing double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Senators ahead, 9-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Valera said after the game.
The Senators go to 63-69, putting them 4th in the South.
