Danny Jeremiah never let the Sea Dogs get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Fightin Phils to a win, 4-0. J.J. McCarthy got the save, the 1st for him this season. Portland falls to 3-7.

Reading relied on the hitting of Edwin Griffin to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Fightin Phils on top, 3-0. For the game, Griffin had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Jeremiah.
