Rockies Deal Chukars 4-0 Defeat

In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Grand Junction starter Maddox Kopp put a stranglehold on the Idaho Falls offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Rockies to a 4-0 win. The winning pitcher was Kopp, now 10-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8.
Grand Junction used a well-timed hit by Bill Hunt to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Rockies ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Grand Junction manager Buck Showalter. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Chukars, now 28-40, have lost 4 in a row.
