Pitcher Shane Goldman was sensational for the Altoona Curve in his team's 1-0 triumph over the Erie SeaWolves. Goldman picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Goldman, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. George Clark recorded the save for Altoona, his 1st of the season.

Altoona catcher Javier D'Orazio contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Curve ahead, 1-0.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said D'Orazio.

The Curve, now 8-2, have stormed out of the gates.
