Boston starter Gerrit Cole had a strong outing against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-2 win. The Red Sox raised their record to 3-0.

Boston used a timely hit from Drew Mendoza to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Cole told the Boston Citizen.
