Giants Deal Dodgers 7-1 Loss
|
A good performance from left fielder Brandon Nimmo helped the San Francisco Giants defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 7-1. Nimmo was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Giants. Quitério Gavio, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The loss drops the Dodgers to 4-3.
San Francisco relied on the hitting of Taylor Sparks to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Giants on top, 3-1. For the game, Sparks had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Sparks.
