Giants Stay Hot, Beat Dodgers, 5-2
|
The San Francisco Giants topped the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-2, in National League action at Dodger Stadium. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and League City, Texas, native Jarred Cosart. The winning pitcher was Cosart, now 2-0. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. The save went to John Hawkins, number 1 for him.
Matt Den Dekker, the 36-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Den Dekker contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put San Francisco up, 2-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Den Dekker said after the game.
The win gives San Francisco a record of 6-0.
