Baker Rips 2 Home Runs in 7-2 Royals Triumph
|
Mark Baker left his imprint on the 7-2 Kansas City win against the Chicago White Sox. Baker, who finished 5th in the NL in extra base hits with 66 in 2012, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Kenny Funkhouser, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while fanning 8 and walking 2. The loss has the White Sox at 2-5.
Curt Franklin made an early impact for Kansas City when he stroked his 1st triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which came with two out in the bottom of the third, put the Royals on top, 5-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Franklin, "and today was a good one for us."
