The Cincinnati Reds outlasted Jack Leiter and the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-8. Leiter was impressive in the loss. The Milwaukee pitcher threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The winner was Cincinnati reliever Nate Pearson, now 2-0. The loser was Carlos Meza. Earning his 1st save for Cincinnati was Jake Eder.

Cincinnati took a 9-8 lead on Rafael Castillo's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Milwaukee pitcher Carlos Meza in the bottom of the seventh.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Castillo.

The win gives Cincinnati a record of 5-5.
