New York and Atlanta duked it out and the Mets came out victorious.

New York Mets starter Kevin Comer pitched his team past the Atlanta Braves, 3-1. Comer, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. The save went to Kyle Radatz, his 5th this season.

New York used a well-timed hit by Gabriel Vaughn to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Comer told the New York Daily.

The win has New York at 6-5.
