Milwaukee and Cincinnati got after it at Great American Ball Park.
Starting pitcher Forrest Whitley had a solid game. He was a big reason the Milwaukee Brewers throttled the Cincinnati Reds, 8-2. Whitley went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-1.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Daniel Paolini. For the game, Paolini was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Milwaukee a 2-0 lead.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Whitley.
