JJ Goss was locked and loaded, helping the Chicago Cubs beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-1. Chicago reliever Billy Lawler picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Emílio Salazar was tagged with the loss. Arizona falls to 11-9.

In the bottom of the sixth, Chicago left fielder Dylan Crews put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 5th home run of the year. Arizona pitcher Emílio Salazar served it up. Just like that, the Cubs were ahead, 3-1.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Goss.
