Chicago left fielder Dylan Crews made his presence felt in the 15-2 Cubs triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies. Crews went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Chicago goes to 17-9.
The Cubs got an important contribution from designated hitter Drew Sanders, who in the bottom of the third punched a first pitch cutter into right-center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 5-1.
"Enjoyed this one," Sanders told the Chicago Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
