The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Wrigley Field, taking down the Chicago Cubs, 5-0. Starting pitcher Parker Markel was a big reason why. Markel, now 4-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no runs. The win gives Philadelphia a record of 15-13.

Philadelphia used a well-timed hit by Cole Brannen to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Phillies ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Markel.
