Hardy Slaps 5 Hits Sunday, December 15th, 2019 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Gary Hardy today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick and paced the AL West to a 12-8 win over the WDL NL Central. After his dynamite batting performance, the WDL second baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Gary Hardy singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
