Top Player Named by Winter Developmental League

The future looks extremely bright for Marcelo Mayer. At the age of 21, many players are still trying to find their way in Winter Developmental League.
Mayer has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Winter Developmental League WDL MVP.
"I didn't expect to hit .484 this year, that's for sure," the second baseman said.
The WDL Wailea Beach star also put up a .543 on-base percentage this year, with 30 hits, 9 doubles, no triples, 1 home run, 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
He received 4 first place votes out of a possible 6. José López of the WDL Wailea Beach finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while James Wood of the WDL Banzai Waves finished third.
