Friday, February 10th , 2023
He may have less experience than most of his Winter Developmental League peers, but that didn't slow Riley Greene down at all in 2022.
At the age of 22, the WDL left fielder has been named the winner of the Winter Developmental League WDL MVP.
He had a .357 batting average and a .453 on-base percentage this year. In 25 games he piled up 25 hits, 7 doubles, no triples, 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 6. Jordan Westburg of the WDL Lahaina Sharks finished second in voting, while Jordyn Adams of the WDL Lahaina Sharks finished third.
