Cubs Trade Días to Royals for Romero Wednesday, November 15th , 2023 In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Chicago Cubs and the Kansas City Royals have agreed to a deal that will have 28-year old RHP Orlando Días heading to Kansas City in exchange for 33-year old C Carlos Romero, 19-year old minor league CF Ollie Gordon, and 20-year old minor league RHP Sam Potts. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. Chicago will retain a portion of Días's remaining contract. Días's career stats shape up like this: In 302.1 innings he has struck out 318, walked 139 and saved 58 games while compiling a 19-25 record and a 3.90 ERA. Romero boasts a lifetime batting average of .257 with 973 hits, 140 homers, 464 runs scored and 457 RBIs. |
