Pirates Alvarez Goes Yard 4 Times Thursday, April 4th , 2024 An amazing display of power vaulted Yordan Alvarez and the Pittsburgh Pirates to victory and into the record books today, as the first baseman hit 4 home runs against the Washington Nationals. Alvarez was an unstoppable force for the Pirates in the 8-0 triumph at Nationals Park. In the postgame interview, Alvarez said he started to feel the pressure before his last home run. "I could feel the anticipation from the crowd, the look in my teammates' eyes," he said. "I was already thrilled, but as I stepped in the box I said, please God, let me hit one more."
