Red Sox End Baker's Streak Sunday, June 12th , 2022 The Seattle Mariners lost to the Boston Red Sox 6-0 today at T-Mobile Park, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Mark Baker's 21-game hitting streak. The left fielder went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Baker, we would win the game," Red Sox manager Mike Matheny explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Baker is batting at a .305 pace this season, picking up 76 hits in 249 at-bats with 17 home runs, 52 RBIs and 50 runs scored. |
