Marlins Advance to Divisional Series Wednesday, October 2nd , 2024 It's a sweet sweep for the Miami Marlins and they have won the Wild Card Series. The Arizona Diamondbacks were not able to keep pace with the Marlins and dropped the series in short order, losing 8-2 in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Arizona manager Bob Melvin. It's now on to the Divisional Series for Miami after their 2-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was right fielder Tink Jones, who was named MVP. For the series, Jones hit .429 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Miami Marlins will play against the Cincinnati Reds in the next round. Cincinnati had a bye in the Wild Card Series. The Divisional Series is scheduled to begin on October 4th , 2024.
