Klein, Austin Suspended for Fracas Sunday, June 28th, 2020 After an intense confrontation, both the Cubs Chris Klein and the Sounds Joe Austin were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Iowa-Nashville game. Chris Klein will miss 4 games, while Joe Austin was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Chris Klein commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Klein is batting .273 this year with 4 home runs, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 39 hits in 143 at-bats. Austin has posted a 6-2 record for the year with a 3.53 ERA. Teams are hitting .249 against him and he has rung up 68 strikeouts in 71.1 innings. |
