Cox Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Thursday, August 10th , 2023 The Reno Aces may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 8-2 to the Las Vegas Aviators, but Stephen Cox continued to hit like a god. The first baseman collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Cox is playing great and is on fire right now," Aces manager Jose Valentin said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Cox was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Stephen Cox grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In his 2023 season totals, Cox has 11 home runs, .327 BA, .377 OBP, 86 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
