Crawdads Dominate, Sweep Round 1 Saturday, September 10th , 2022 The Hickory Crawdads have swept the Delmarva Shorebirds and are on to the Championship. Hickory won 10-2 today at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium to clinch the Round 1. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Hickory left fielder Javier Pimentel, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Pimentel won the award with a .417 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Hickory Crawdads don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Asheville Tourists - Columbia Fireflies series. Asheville leads the series 2 games to 1. The Championship schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
