NYP's Top Player for 2022 Named Saturday, September 10th , 2022 Gunnar Henderson of the Batavia Muckdogs had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Hitter of the Year Award for 2022. The 21-year-old third baseman put up a .339 average and a .441 on-base percentage, piling up 84 hits, 23 doubles, 1 triple, 14 home runs, 54 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 14. Van Beasley of the Aberdeen Ironbirds finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Mason House of the Batavia Muckdogs finished third.
