Stovall on Fire, 5-for-6 Against West Virginia Wednesday, June 14th , 2023 State College left fielder Peyton Stovall had a day to remember today, 5-for-6 against the West Virginia Black Bears at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park as the Spikes picked up a 4-3 victory. "He was patient up there today," State College skipper Chad Kreuter told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Stovall has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Peyton Stovall singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 8th, struck out in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off Jon Francis in the 12th. For the season, Stovall is hitting at a .423 clip with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and has scored 10 runs. He has 33 hits, 11 walks and a .511 on-base percentage. View Boxscore |
