Big Day for Allen: Swats 5 Hits Wednesday, July 26th , 2023 Tanner Allen was sizzling at the plate today. In a game played at Centennial Field, the Vermont right fielder blistered the Auburn Doubledays for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 9-8 victory. "Allen was too tough to get out today," Doubledays skipper Vance Wilson said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Tanner Allen singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in a run in the 8th, flied out in the 10th and singled in the 13th.
