Aberdeen Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game Friday, August 25th , 2023 The Aberdeen Ironbirds are off to the Championship after an exciting Round 1 triumph. Aberdeen downed the Brooklyn Cyclones, but needed the entire series to do so, with a 5-3 win tonight at Ripken Stadium wrapping up the series 3-2. "It's every guy in this room that made this happen. Without us all pulling in the same direction, we don't win this series," said Trejyn Fletcher, who earned MVP honors for a standout offensive series. Fletcher put up a .524 with a .583 on-base percentage in the series. He also had 0 home runs, drove in 2 runs and scored 5 runs himself. The Aberdeen Ironbirds will play against the Norwich Sea Unicorns in the next round. Norwich won their series against the State College Spikes 3 games to 2.
