Orioles Top Phillies, 6-3
|
In the 6-3 Baltimore win over Philadelphia, the impact of Skyler Ballard was substantial. Ballard went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Baltimore reliever Juan Olmos was credited with the win, to go to 4-9. Dusty Green took the loss for Philadelphia. With the win over Philadelphia, the Orioles improved to 66-92.
Ballard contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Baltimore in the top of the seventh. With his team trailing 3-2, Ballard took a sinker from Dusty Green and stroked the home run to right-center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Orioles to leap in front, 4-3.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Ballard. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
