Guardians Best Padres in Pitching Duel
|
The Guardians grabbed a win, 2-1, at Petco Park, overcoming a fine effort from San Diego pitcher Chris Kielian. Kielian went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Guardians improved to 67-81.
It could have been a different outcome for Cleveland, had it not been for Billy Lacefield, the 29-year old first baseman . Lacefield contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Cleveland up, 1-0.
"Both teams played hard," said Cleveland manager Adam Parks.
