Cardinals Drop Reds, 2-1
|
The Cincinnati Reds got a superb performance from designated hitter Matt Moffat, but the St. Louis Cardinals still won the game, 2-1. Moffat threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. With the victory, the Cardinals upped their record to 17-17.
St. Louis took a 2-0 lead on Robby Diaz's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Diaz hit in the top of the eighth, left Cincinnati pitcher Matt Moffat shaking his head.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Diaz, "and then get after it again."
