Mieczkowski Powers Phillies to 6-1 Win
With third baseman Seth Mieczkowski leading the charge, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the San Francisco Giants, 6-1, at Citizens Bank Park. Mieczkowski, who led the NL in extra base hits with 77 in 2054, went 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Paul Skenes Jr. picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 6-2. At 28-20, the Phillies find themselves in second place in the National League East Division.

Mieczkowski contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Philadelphia in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Mieczkowski took a fastball from Carlos Solis and stroked the home run to center. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Phillies to leap in front, 3-1.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Mieczkowski.
