Colorado Decked by Tuckfard, Cardinals
|
St. Louis catcher Terry Tuckfard had a 5-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Colorado Rockies, 8-0. Tim Wybenga was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 2 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. The losses continue to mount for Colorado, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
The Cardinals got a big hit from third baseman McGwire Jones. In the bottom of the fifth, Jones pounded a 2-run triple to right. His 1st triple of the season put the Cardinals ahead, 4-0.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Koronin Rockies told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
