At Quebecor Stadium, the Montreal Expos and Boston Red Sox were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Boston pitcher Justin Swenson had a large part in his team beating the Montreal Expos, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Swenson. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Julian Black.
Conrad Taylor, who signed a 2-year contract worth $6,200,000 on 11/27/2052, had a direct impact on the outcome. Taylor contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Boston up, 2-0.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Swenson after the game.
Boston is now 40-30, Montreal 31-39.
