Giants Fall Short, 3-2, at St. Louis
|
The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Busch Stadium, knocking off the San Francisco Giants, 3-2. Starting pitcher Tim Wybenga was a big reason why. Earning his 16th save of the year was David Murphy. This win makes it 7 in a row for St. Louis.
In the bottom of the sixth, St. Louis first baseman Billy Guzman put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 10th double of the year. San Francisco pitcher Caleb Mullinax served it up. Just like that, the Cardinals were ahead, 3-2.
"We were in it," said San Francisco manager Chunk J. "We just didn't score enough runs."
