Red Sox Best Expos in Pitching Duel
In a low-scoring affair between the Boston Red Sox and the Montreal Expos, pitcher Reece Nichols was the difference between victory and defeat. The Boston right-hander earned kudos in the 2-0 Red Sox win. Danny Schneible earned the save, his 11th, for the Red Sox. With the win, Boston pushed its record to 45-31.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Red Sox had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when first baseman David Price Jr. hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Steve Barrett and made the score 1-0, Red Sox. Price Jr. went 1 for 4.

"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Robb Dixon.
