Nationals Zap Rockies, 7-5
|
The Washington Nationals had to overcome a big game from Colorado third baseman Hildo Pot to leave Nationals Park with a victory. And they did, winning 7-5. Pot was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Jakub Kvacek recorded the save for Washington, his 22nd of the season. Washington has now won 4 games in a row.
C.J. Richerson hit a 2-run double off Gerardo Camacho in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Nationals in front, 5-3. In addition to the double, Richerson had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Richerson crowed after the game.
