Angels Walk It Off for 42nd Win of Season
|
With right fielder Rusty Ney leading the charge, the California Angels defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 7-3, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Ney, the 6th overall pick in the 2042 draft, went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. At 42-38, California is in second place in the American League West Division.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Ney hit a changeup from Jon Harris for a grand slam home run. The Angels, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Ney attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
