Nationals Take Down Orioles, 10-5
|
The Baltimore Orioles got a superb performance from pitcher Kevin Woods. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Washington. The Nationals won the game, 10-5. Woods threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Washington reliever Jakub Kvacek picked up the win to move to 3-3. Chris Dauphin suffered the loss. With the win, Washington pushed its record to 56-29.
Washington used the clutch hitting of Clay Buchanan to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Nationals the lead, 6-5. For the game, Buchanan had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Buchanan.
