Behind a solid performance from first baseman Elijah Hunter, the Houston Astros defeated the California Angels, 6-5. Hunter went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Astros. The win was credited to Terry Huffmaster in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Arturo Diaz took the loss.

Butch Kaiser went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI for Houston. The 34-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Arturo Diaz. It was his 55th RBI of the season.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Dave DaSilva, the Houston skipper.

The Astros saw their record improve to 44-48.
