Pirates Suffer 9-4 Setback
The Cleveland Guardians topped the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 9-4. Leading the way was center fielder Gil Switzer. Switzer went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Guardians. The Guardians now own a record of 38-55.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Corey Trevor came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Pittsburgh pitcher Dante Verduzco, he hit a 1-1 screwball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cleveland on top, 5-4.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Switzer told the Cleveland Observer.
