Los Angeles Rallies for 5-3 Win
|
The Washington Nationals could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Danny Diaz into a win. Instead, the Los Angeles Dodgers prevailed, 5-3. Diaz threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Jonathan Daniels snagged the win in relief. He goes to 7-4 on the season. Francisco Santos suffered the loss. Los Angeles, with the win, sits at 37-77.
Daniel Sifuentes drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Los Angeles. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Sifuentes had a clutch at-bat. Facing Washington hurler Francisco Santos, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Dodgers a 4-3 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Sifuentes told the Los Angeles Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
